CBD Regulation & Transparency

Keeping you informed on the latest developments within the CBD industry, there may be additional regulations and product testing on the horizon. The FDA is currently seeking a contractor to test up to 3,000 unique CBD containing-products currently on the market.

This report, sent to the U.S. House Committee, shows the FDA’s findings from a small case study of CBD products determining labeling accuracy. It was filed in response to the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020 if you’d like to read more about the specifics.

The completed study is only a small representation of the thousands of CBD brands for sale online and on shelves today. The document stated, ‘The overall goal of the long-term portion of the study, obtained through a contract laboratory, will be the collection of CBD-containing products of various types, including foods and cosmetics, from geographic locations throughout the U.S., and the analysis of these products for CBD content, for related cannabinoid content and profiles, as well as for chemical and microbiological contaminants that could be present in CBD products.’

The FDA is aiming to provide guidance in CBD production, labeling, and consumption, while protecting consumer health for those that use these products daily. Here are the results of some of the findings in an article format.

This is why CBD product transparency from seed to shelf production is so important when selecting a brand. At The Happy Labs, we provide transparency throughout the entire process from our organically grown hemp, to our third party lab testing with easily accessible test results. We want you to feel safe and comfortable using our products, and to know exactly what each and every product contains. We’ve even gone so far as creating a Plants + Vitamins + CBD dictionary that covers the benefits of each ingredient.

At The Happy Labs, we created a brand that focuses on clean processes, best practices, and how we test. We search for only the best, sustainably sourced raw materials for all of our product ingredients. The hemp we use is non-GMO and pesticide-free and we use the supercritical CO2 extraction method to ensure that there are no residual solvents tainting the CBD oil. We promise customers that the dosage and the contents of each product are consistent with our labels. Founders Stacey and Chris use The Happy Labs products each every day, and believe that you’ll love them too.
