Happy Labs is registered in California as a Benefit Corporation. Benefit Corporation designation is designed for businesses that are social enterprises, allowing corporate officers and directors to take into account the triple bottom line of profit, planet and people when making operational decisions. In order to maintain Benefit Corporation status in California, we are required to:

Create a general public benefit

Our Goal
To run all management decisions through the triple bottom line, which provides greater protection for our officers and directors to pursue operational objectives that benefit the environment, society and our employees.
To ensure that transparency yearly issuing of environmental and social impact reports and accountability standards by an independent third party are part and parcel to our business operations.

Being organized as a California Benefit Corporation allows Happy Labs to signal to the market that we are putting the wellness of the planet and our consumer at the heart of our business model.
The Envira Amazonia Project: A Tropical Forest Conservation Project
At The Happy Labs we are also taking seriously our businesses operational footprint and through our participation in the Carbonfree® Small Business Program. We are able to offset the carbon footprint of our office operations, through the purchase of 36 metric tonnes of Triple Gold Distinction and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) offsets tied to the Envira Amazonia Project.
The Happy Labs joined the Carbonfree® Small Business Program in May of 2021. We have chosen to support the The Envira Amazonia Project and their important work of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+) project, that is protecting nearly 500,000 acres of tropical rainforest.
